Nannies are professional child caregivers who have extensive childcare experience and/or childcare qualifications.

They take care of all nursery duties and offer a package of care that includes planning educational and creative activities, looking after your child’s dietary requirements, managing playgroups, tidying up your child’s room and above all ensuring that your child or children grow up in a safe and loving environment. A professional Nanny can work alongside the family and on a sole charge basis.

Nannies generally work an average of five days per week and about ten hours per day (roughly around 50 hours per week in total), although some Nannies are happy to work part time.

  • Live out: These Nannies are paid an hourly rate of £9 to £12 net per hour, depending on their previous salary and years of experience. This translates to a total annual amount that ranges from approximately £33K to £46K total gross per year. The salaries of part time Nannies are based on the same net hourly rate as a full time live out Nanny
  • Live in: Nannies who live in offer greater flexibility to the families. They work 10 to 12 hours per day and may be able to provide a couple of evenings of additional Babysitting per week.  A  live in Nanny may be happy to work on a 24-hour shift for five to six days per week at a higher rate of pay. Live in Nanny rates for a 50-hour week generally range from £8 to £10 net per hour. The salary does not include food or accommodation which is provided by the family. The salaries of part time live in Nannies will be based on the same net hourly rate as a full time live in Nanny.
